Open Space
Privacy Policy
This policy applies to the Open Space product website, desktop app, and email support. Open Space is operated by the independent developer Sh1ri. Privacy requests may be sent to support@sh1ri.com.
Effective date: August 12, 2026 · Document version: privacy-2026-08-12
01
Our privacy principles
Open Space is local-first. It does not require an account, sell personal information, or build cross-site advertising profiles. We process information only where needed to provide the website, update checks, and email support.
02
Local data in the desktop app
Your schedules, projects, focus records, and settings remain in the app's local directory on your device. The app does not automatically send this content to us. You decide how to store and share any exports or backups you create.
03
Diagnostic information
The desktop app may keep local diagnostic records such as its version, startup process, and error events, but not schedule content. Diagnostic files are kept for up to 7 days and are limited by local storage. We receive them only if you choose to export and email them. You can disable recording or clear local diagnostics at any time.
04
Website analytics
When enabled, the website loads Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views and performance. The beacon sends navigation timing and page information to Cloudflare; it does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or cross-site profiles. Cloudflare states that it does not collect or use visitors' personal data for this service. Separately, ordinary website delivery and security may create technical request records such as IP address, request time, requested path, user agent, and response status at the hosting or network provider.
05
Update checks
When you manually check for updates, the desktop app requests GitHub's public Releases API. GitHub may process network and device technical information attached to that request under its own privacy policy. Open Space does not create an account or user profile for this check.
06
Email support
When you contact us voluntarily, we receive your email address, message, and any files you choose to attach. Support and security email is received and stored through Apple iCloud Mail. We use it only to reply, investigate an issue, handle a privacy request, or address a security report.
07
Service providers and transfers
Cloudflare processes website delivery, security, and analytics information; GitHub processes update-check requests and release downloads; Apple receives and stores support and security email through iCloud Mail. These providers process information under their own service and privacy terms and may do so outside your country or region. Open Space does not authorise them to use support content for advertising.
08
Retention
Local diagnostic files are kept for up to 7 days. Support, privacy, and security email is kept only as long as needed to reply, investigate the issue, or handle the request, and is then periodically deleted. Information may be kept longer where required by law or necessary to maintain security records. Cloudflare states that unsampled Web Analytics beacon data is kept for 7 days and aggregated analytics may remain available for longer. Hosting, network, GitHub, and iCloud Mail records follow the relevant provider's retention rules.
09
Your choices
Email contact and sharing diagnostic files are optional. You can export or delete local data, disable or clear diagnostics, and ask through the support address to access, copy, correct, or delete related email information held by the operator. You may also object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, and complain to the competent privacy regulator where those rights apply. A request may require reasonable identity verification.
10
Children
Open Space is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. The website and beta do not knowingly request a child's personal information or provide an account service. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support email, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
11
Security
Open Space limits product data to local storage, avoids automatic diagnostic uploads, and limits access to support messages to what is needed to respond. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Vulnerabilities should be reported through the private security contact on the Security page, not through a public issue.
12
Policy changes
The document version and effective date above identify this policy. If information handling changes, this page will be updated before or when the change takes effect. Material changes will also be highlighted on the website or in related release notes when reasonably possible.
This policy describes the current public beta and website. It does not replace the privacy terms of Cloudflare, GitHub, Apple, or other services you choose to use.
