Open Space public beta
Public Beta Terms
These terms govern your use of the Open Space desktop public beta, operated by the independent developer Sh1ri. Please read them before downloading or using the software.
Effective date: August 12, 2026 · Document version: beta-terms-2026-08-12
01
Acceptance and scope
By downloading, installing, or using the software, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not download, install, or use the software. These terms apply only to the public beta release.
02
Personal beta licence
Sh1ri grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use this public beta for your own personal, non-commercial use, at no charge. The software is not sold to you.
03
Restrictions
You may not sell, rent, sublicense, publish, redistribute, or commercially exploit the software. You may not copy, modify, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer it, except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
04
Your data and backups
The desktop beta stores its application data on your device. This version does not intentionally collect usage telemetry. You are responsible for making backups of any data that matters to you; beta software may contain defects that cause data loss or unexpected behaviour.
05
Beta status and no warranty
This is experimental software, provided as is and as available. It may change, stop working, or be withdrawn at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open Space makes no warranties about availability, security, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation.
06
Ownership
Open Space and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the software, its design, content, and intellectual property. These terms grant only the limited permission stated above.
07
Termination
Your licence ends automatically if you materially breach these terms. When it ends, you must stop using and uninstall the beta. You may stop using and uninstall it at any time. Sections concerning ownership, disclaimers, liability, and applicable mandatory rights continue where their nature requires.
08
Third-party components and services
The software includes third-party components governed by their own licences and notices, available in the app under Settings, About and help, Third-party licences. Update checks connect to GitHub only when you request them and are also covered by GitHub's applicable terms and privacy policy. Third-party licence terms take priority where they expressly grant rights that these terms cannot restrict.
09
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sh1ri is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss arising from the beta, including loss of data, profits, or use. Any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited remains unaffected. Nothing in these terms excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited by law.
10
Changes to these terms
Open Space may update these terms for future beta releases. A new version applies only to software downloaded after its effective date unless you clearly accept it for an earlier copy. The document version shown above identifies this text; material changes will be highlighted on this page or in the related release notes.
11
General and mandatory rights
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. These terms and the referenced privacy and third-party notices are the complete terms for this public beta. Applicable mandatory law, including consumer rights that cannot be waived, continues to apply.
